Andrews Software, Inc. Introduces New Technology and Active Learning During Its 2006 Annual User Group Meeting

ASI User Group Meeting Another Great Success!

Cleveland, Ohio - September 28, 2006 Andrews Software, Inc. (ASI) welcomed a record number of clients to its ninth annual User Group Meeting held September 12-14, 2006 in Cleveland, Ohio. Reflective of its growing client base of document destruction facilities, this year’s event incorporated a dual-track agenda with one track geared toward topics relevant to records centers and the other track focused on shredding operations. In total, there were nine speakers and 15 information-packed sessions highlighting new technology and product enhancements.

“Client feedback from previous meetings indicated that our users wanted more ‘hands on’ experience so a core objective for this year’s event was to introduce our clients to the power of new technology in an active learning environment,” says Scott Bidwell, ASI’s Vice President, Sales & Marketing. “This meant that we not only discussed and demonstrated these enhanced solutions, but we set up a computer lab for our users to actually walk through new processes themselves.  While the computer lab was in operation in one conference room, we had another conference room where clients could operate ASI Mobile utilizing the Symbol scanners and portable receipt printers. It truly provided an opportunity for our clients to get actively involved in the learning process.”

Understanding how to incorporate technology to be competitive was the message from keynote speaker Sam Bowers, president of Sales Service Institute and member of the prestigious TEC 200 Club. His presentation, “Strategies for the New Economy” challenged attendees to abandon what they do well and embrace things they don’t know how to do yet - imperative in a world where services were sold to today’s world where services are bought. Other sessions featuring new technologies included: “VCK Scheduler,” an introduction to a new application to help records centers manage scheduled rotations of containers or files within VCK; “Reducing Costs with Route Optimization Technology,” an overview of how ASI has integrated new routing solutions to improve operational performance; and “RFID & Its Potential Impact on Our Industry,” an overview of RFID technology and opportunities it presents.
