APRIL 2018

What we were talking about at NAID 2018

Thank you to everyone who visited the ASI booth during the NAID 2018 Conference and MWMA Medical Waste Conference held April 13th-15th in Nashville, Tennessee.  I was also honored to be part of the educational agenda to share risks and tips to help NAID members protect their businesses against cyber-attack. We truly appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to share the latest ASI solutions and to catch up on what’s new with our customers and partners. We had great conversations about our Veri-Shred destruction software, what’s new with ASI Mobile, and provided multiple demonstrations of our newly released ASI Medical Waste Module. In case you weren’t able to stop by, here’s a recap of what was discussed:

ASI Mobile is now compatible with Android and iOS-enabled smartphones. Drivers are able to upload and manage route info, capture  e-signatures at point of service, and email scanned information – all from the palm of their hands, plus much more. We think it just makes sense, especially given that more businesses are seeking to integrate smartphone technologies with their business operations. Based on attendee interest during the show, it seems we’re on the right track!

Medical waste continues to be a dynamic growth sector for the destruction industry. The new ASI Medical Waste Module ticks all the boxes for safe, compliant medical waste disposal. During the show, attendees were particularly interested in the Module’s management of manifests. These show proof of disposal (a regulatory requirement). With the ASI Medical Waste Module, manifests are created in the field. These can be emailed directly to the client or accessed via a secure web link.

Of course, we provided demonstrations of ASI’s destruction software, Veri-Shred, highlighting key features that designate it as one of the industry’s top performing destruction software solutions. You’ll find more of Veri-Shred’s performance features on the ASI website, including the Veri-Shred info sheet

Lastly, chatting with our customers, colleagues, partners and prospects made me reflect on what makes ASI stand out from the other software providers. It’s that our foundation is built on the philosophy that first and foremost, Andrews Software, Inc. is a customer service company that just so happens to develop RIM services software. These conversations were a reminder that if we don’t take care of you, someone else will. We work side-by-side with you to go above and beyond your expectations. Once we’ve got you, you don’t want to go anywhere else!  Once again, thank you to everyone who stopped by.  If something comes to mind that we didn’t discuss, or if you have a question but weren’t at the NAID or MWMA conferences, I’d love to hear from you.

Bidwell Shares Cyber Security Tips at NAID Conference

On April 14th, ASI President/CEO Scott Bidwell highlighted the cyber threats facing businesses today with attendees of the NAID 2018 Annual Conference & Expo. His session session entitled “Don’t Be Held Hostage” addressed:

  • How does a business fall victim to cyber attack?
  • You’re the victim of a cyber attack. Now what?
  • Steps your company can take today to protect against cyber-attack.

Bidwell invited attendees to contact him directly for the “ASI Network Security Checklist” – a document that provides tips to help businesses take steps to protect their data from cyber attack.

Tech Tip: New VCK-SQL portal puts invoices online

VCK-SQL 9.7.11x’s new online e-billing feature responds to ASI client requests for an alternative to emailing invoices to their customers. The new VCK-SQL feature allows records centers to create a repository of all invoices consisting of a Customer Number_Invoice number, for easy import into an account payables application.
