Tech Tip:
In Sync & In Sequence

Remember to transfer data from mobile data devices in the appropriate sequence. Transferring data out of sequence may cause item statuses to not be a true reflection of their actual location.

For example: If you scan boxes that just came in from a driver to a pallet location and transfer the warehouse data before you transfer the courier data, the boxes will take on the status of the courier data when the courier data is sent, not the pallet location from the warehouse application.

For more information about this Tech Tip or any questions related to ASI software solutions, please contact ASI Support.

What to Give?
Scott Bidwell, ASI President/COO

blue giftWe all have that person on our holiday shopping list; you know, that person you never know what gift to give, right? Nothing seems "right." Truth be told, I try not to get too caught up in the retail aspect of the holidays (I leave most of that for Jocelyn!). Even so, it's easy to lose sight of what is really important during the hustle and bustle of holiday activities and last minute "to do" lists. I came across a quote recently that really made me stop and think about this. It reads:

"Christmas gift suggestions: To your enemy, forgiveness. To an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart. To a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example. To yourself, respect." -- Oren Arnold

It stopped me in my tracks. What it says isn't what I didn't already know; however, it was a timely reminder to me that what we have to give is within us, not at the big box store on Black Friday or online on Cyber Monday. It's a truth that is too often forgotten.

This holiday season, I'd like to take a moment to give thanks to you, our ASI customer, for selecting Andrews Software, Inc. as your software solutions provider and for the opportunity to work with you. I, and the ASI team, hope that you and your family enjoy the magic of these holidays and we look forward to providing prompt and effective service as we continue our partnership in 2016.

ASI Mobile 4.0 is Here!

ASI Mobile 4.0 screenshotWe are pleased to announce the release and first installation of ASI Mobile 4.0.

This is an exciting release for ASI Mobile users, most significantly because shredding, warehouse and driver scanning functions are performed from a single application. Previously, ASI Mobile included separate releases with slightly different functionality for shredding, warehouse, or driver scanning.

Specifically, ASI Mobile 4.0 offers VCK-SQL wireless data transfers of warehouse and driver scanning activities, along with Veri-Shred activities.

As a web services-based application, ASI Mobile 4.0 sends and receives information via ASI's Universal Web Services so there are minimum infrastructure requirements that need to be met prior to product deployment. These are detailed in the ASI Mobile 4.0 Help Manual & Release Notes document which is available online.

Please contact ASI Support if you would like more information on how to put ASI Mobile 4.0 to work for your business.
