Did you know VCK makes it easy to delete unwanted box and file barcodes? You can, plus, if you delete a box or file from VCK for an InfoKeeper customer, VCK will also delete that item in InfoKeeper on the next WebSync process? Cool huh?

What You Don't Know...
Scott Bidwell, President/COO

‘Tis the season for trade shows and conferences. Either you’re attending or perhaps planning for educational and trade events in the fall. That’s what I and the ASI Team are doing anyway. Last month, the ASI team and I enjoyed being part of NAID’s dynamic conference and trade show. This month, we’re looking forward to participating in PRISM’s annual conference and exposition. We’re also busily planning the 2008 ASI Users Seminar to be held September 17th and 18th in Cleveland. The agenda includes lots of workshops and seminars, plus a unique team-building exercise designed around bowling. As we develop promotional information for the seminar, I thought it might be a good idea to weave some bowling terminology into the message. So…to Google I go, where my search turns up a 40-page PDF document of bowling terminology – 40 pages!!! Who knew??? I certainly never would’ve guessed and it’s not like I’m oblivious to the game, mind you. I’ve bowled off and on for much of my childhood and adult life.

This got me thinking about that old adage “You don’t know what you don’t know” and how true this is. I experience it regularly as I talk with customers and prospects – which takes me back to the NAID conference. As you might imagine, NAID’s trade show is an excellent venue for ASI to promote its shredding software, Veri-Shred. One of the key selling points with Veri-Shred is that it stands on its own as a shredding software solution. It was developed specifically for the shredding industry, with an understanding of how a records center or media vault operates; however, a records center or media vault does not have to be using ASI software to successfully incorporate Veri-Shred. When customers and prospects realize this is the case, they invariably say, “I didn’t realize. I assumed I would have to switch to ASI to use Veri-Shred.”  By making assumptions or because they simply “don’t know what they don’t know”, these business owners have automatically eliminated a potential “best” solution for their shredding businesses. (Yes, the argument can be made that perhaps we should strengthen our marketing message on this point, but I believe we would, and we will, encounter this regardless of how and how often we mention it in our sales and marketing efforts.)

As you go tackle projects, whether at work or at home, seek as much information as possible to help identify the optimum solution. Ask questions. Ask more questions. You may find you spend less time in the gutter and move one step closer to “off the sheet” success. (What can I say…with 40 pages of bowling terms, I HAD to use a couple of ‘em!) And for those of you attending the PRISM show, we’ll see you there and will happily address any questions you may have about any of our software solutions, or if you prefer, bowling.

Get Ready To Roll - Users Seminar To Be Held In Sept.

As mentioned in our March newsletter, this year's ASI Users Seminar will be held Wednesday, Sept. 17th through Thursday, Sept. 18th in Cleveland. Our host hotel and seminar site is the Embassy Suites Cleveland, centrally located downtown at 1701 East 12th Street. This year's agenda consists of 2 full days. Day 1 focuses on records center-related topics and workshops, while Day 2 targets shredding operations. We have divided the seminar in this way to ensure attendees gain maximum benefit and can choose to participate in both days of education or select the day that most addresses their needs. For a full outline of the Agenda, along with registration and hotel details, view the Users Seminar information on the ASI website.

A new twist this year will be our evening networking activity. At the end of Day 1, we'll head off-site for some relaxation and fun at The Corner Alley. Here, we'll enjoy a great meal, followed by some friendly, albeit competitive bowling. We're excited about this year's Seminar and look forward to welcoming you to Cleveland on September 17th and 18th.
