Expiring Schedules Be Gone!

With Veri-Shred Management Console, there’s no need to miss a service due to an expiring schedule. With this utility, users receive a pop-up upon login detailing the schedules that are due to expire within “X” days. The notification schedule is determined by the user and entered in General Settings. Contact ASI Support today to learn more about implementing this valuable utility.

From Training Wheels to the Tour de France
Scott Bidwell, President/COO

Remember when you were little and learning to ride a bike? Riding with training wheels was okay for awhile, but it probably wasn’t long until you were ready to go faster and farther. So your mom or dad took a deep breath, removed the small wheels and let you go. Maybe you took a fall the first time or two. Soon, however, you were gliding happily around the neighborhood with a new sense of independence and freedom. For many of us, this is as far as we take our cycling past-time. A handful of people continue to pursue it as a way to stay fit or for the sheer enjoyment, cycling on weekends and racing in charity cycling events. A few people actually make a career of it. Fewer still achieve great heights of success such as has been seen by Lance Armstrong and his multiple victories in the Tour de France. Whether a weekend cycling warrior or as an aspiring professional cyclist, to improve requires additional training and instruction.

You can apply this example to software as well. When a new software application is initially loaded, users learn the basics pretty quickly. Soon, they are ready to tackle the tasks they’ll most routinely perform in a given day, week or month. The majority of users stop here. They know how to do what they need to so they can get their work completed. Very few users willingly reach beyond what they need to know to learn about how other features can simplify their responsibilities. Fewer still embrace new features and enhancements designed to streamline existing tasks. Those that do, however, often find they are accomplishing the same tasks more quickly, accurately and efficiently than ever before. This translates to fewer headaches, happier customers and co-workers - and may even boost the bottom line.

Of course, the user is not always the reason for the training road-block. A company has to place value and importance on its staff continuing to develop their skills and software know-how. From mundane tasks such as implementing e-billing to recent enhancements such as the Veri-Shred Management Console and software upgrades like VCK-SQL, ASI offers comprehensive and one-on-one training for its customers who are interested in gaining maximum value from their software investments. I encourage owners and managers who are responsible for training to review your processes with staff and determine if additional training would be beneficial. You might also like to speak with an ASI support team member about new software improvements to determine which may be beneficial for your business and setup a training schedule. Let’s face it, training wheels will get you where you need to go, but not nearly as smoothly or as quickly as a state-of-the-art bike equipped to handle the competition.

Veri-Shred Management Console Automates Tasks

If you haven’t taken a look at Veri-Shred destruction software lately, you might be surprised at the many benefits it offers. One of the most valuable newer features is its Management Console, which can be found under the “Utilities” tab. This handy management tool assists users by automating the tracking of critical management tasks and providing reminders for users to perform them as needed. It also monitors long-range details.

For example, when service schedules are initially created, parameters are provided detailing when they should begin and end. This allows Veri-Shred to populate the calendar for the indicated duration of time. Veri-Shred also offers the ability to expose any schedules that are due to expire within a specified period of time, for example, 30 days out. When the “Expiring Schedules” feature is applied it will gather and identify all schedules that have been set to expire within 30 days. Without utilizing the Management Console, the limitation of course is that someone has to remember to click the button for the task to be executed. By using the Management Console, this task automatically launches once a user logs into the system, thus eliminating the possibility of having a schedule expire without notice.

This is one example of how the Management Console streamlines daily and long-range tasks. The utility has the capacity to support up to seven different tasks that can be configured to automatically launch upon login. If you’d like more information about Veri-Shred and the Management Console, contact an ASI Sales Representative via email or call 1- 800-807-2093 (within North America) or 440-546-9771 (outside North America. For details on setting up and using the Management Console, please contact an ASI support team member.

Upgrade to VCK-SQL by Dec. 31 and Save

If you have yet to contact ASI to upgrade your existing VCK software, now is the time. ASI customers who upgrade their VCK software to VCK-SQL by December 31st will receive 100% of their existing VCK software investment as a credit toward your VCK-SQL upgrade.

VCK-SQL offers key enhancements such as:

  1. Data Entry has been improved. The Grid View in Data Entry has been removed and replaced with an “import from Excel” tool. For users wishing to enter one box at a time, Item View still exists, however, larger groups of boxes can be entered into a formatted Excel file and imported to VCK-SQL.
  2. Additional security has been added to the Warehouse/Manual Scanning tab. This allows an administrator to give a user access to download a scanner, but not to manually scan boxes and files.
  3. Global Field Replace has been improved to more quickly change large numbers of selected records.
  4. When conducting a query using Just Ask!, search results can be unlimited. Previously, search results were limited

VCK-SQL will ship with step-by-step instructions and conversion tools which will enable you to perform your own conversion. If you wish ASI to perform the conversion for you, we are happy to provide you with a quote. Our intention is to provide you with the tools necessary to work on the migration at your own pace on a schedule that works for your business schedule.

For more information on how you can initiate your VCK-SQL upgrade, contact an ASI Sales Representative via email or call 1- 800-807-2093 (within North America) or 440-546-9771 (outside North America. And remember if you act today, you receive a 100% credit toward your VCK-SQL upgrade.
