Kicking it off!
Scott Bidwell, ASI President/COO
Less than a month to go and I'll be happily kicking off my winter boots as I head south to the NAID Annual Conference. This year's conference kicks off on March 20th, which just happens to be the first day of spring. As we all know, spring brings with it warmer weather (please!!!) as well as two of the most prominent conferences and trade shows for the RIM services industry: the before-mentioned NAID event and the PRISM International Annual Conference.
Of course, being in a climate that doesn't require you to spend a half-hour wrapping yourself in fleece and wool to go and get the mail is reason enough for me and the ASI team to be excited about these upcoming shows. Beyond that, we always look forward to reconnecting with clients, as well as meeting those who are new to the industry. We gain new ideas, perspectives and yes, a new client or two. These interactions are the cherries on the trade show sundae.
Mark Booth 405 on your NAID exhibit hall map and drop by during the show to see what's new at ASI. I'll be the guy wearing his flip flops and shorts in celebration of my (temporary) escape from winter!

ASI Ends Support for SQL Server 2005
Kevin Baird, ASI Programming Manager
If you're running SQL Server 2005, please note that Andrews Software is ending support for all editions of SQL Server 2005, effective immediately. Microsoft's mainstream support for SQL Server 2005 ended in April of 2011. While our software will continue to function on SQL Server 2005 for an indefinite period of time, any work that requires ASI to manage your data, prepare a conversion, or an
installation will require that operations still using SQL Server 2005 be upgraded before work commences.
We also suggest that customers who are running SQL Server 2008 also consider upgrading, as Microsoft's mainstream support for SQL Server 2008 ended in August of 2014. ASI will continue to support all aspects of
SQL Server 2008 for the time being. Going forward, we recommend upgrading to Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or Microsoft SQL Server 2014.
A Note about Windows 2003
Last month, we asked that those customers running ASI software solutions on Windows 2003 upgrade to a later edition of Microsoft Server including 2008 R2 or Server 2012, all of which are compatible with ASI's complete range of software products. This is due to the fact that, as of July 2015, Microsoft will be ending support for Windows Server 2003, and ASI will also be sunsetting support for it.
As always, we recommend that you contact ASI Support before making any server upgrades or changes.
Please continue to check the ASI Archive newsletter for future announcements regarding end-of-life support for this and other software packages.

Tech Tip: VCKweb.NET makes managing users easy!
The release of VCKweb.NET 15.1.0.x. makes managing users easier with new features and an enhanced interface.
The Users Manager now has a grid that displays all fields of data in the user profile. Data can be sorted by columns or using filters. A User Export was created to export all or filtered users to an XLS file. Notes are also visible as part of the reporting process - a feature not previously available.
Check out the latest ASI Release Notes for all that's new and improved with VCKweb.NET.
